Ryan Sauvé is a Calgary-based freelance video strategist and collaborator with twenty years of experience working across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Ryan is equal parts strategist, producer, and educator - creating videos that help people understand complex ideas clearly. His experience spans public affairs, advocacy, training, safety, and corporate communications, with projects produced for agencies, organizations, unions, and campaigns across Canada, the United States, and Europe. What sets his work apart is the integration of education into storytelling: rather than making videos that simply promote, he builds videos that actually teach something - and earn trust because of it. Ryan believes that if the message matters, the production should match.

Let’s Talk About Alberta Separatism

Project Notes

Filmed in Corey Hogan’s constituency office, this direct-to-camera piece was designed to match the seriousness of its subject: Alberta separatism and the need for Canadians to engage the issue clearly and calmly. Ryan’s approach was intentionally restrained - no music, no cutaways, no overlays - relying instead on a slow push-in and careful lighting to let the message carry its full weight without distraction. In a cramped office, he also created subtle composites in post to refine the frame, including removing a close-positioned microphone and improving the lighting on background elements. The piece was filmed and turned around within a few hours so it could meet the moment while the issue was actively shaping the news cycle, resulting in a focused, high-intent video that established the entry point to a larger series.

La Cave is Ryan's private studio in Calgary - a quiet, controlled production space built for to-camera work. Talking head interviews, executive presentations, thought leadership pieces, and organizational messaging all come together here without the overhead of a rented facility.

The space offers a relaxed, private, speakeasy-inspired vibe, while still delivering lighting and audio that produce broadcast-quality results in a low-pressure environment.

Available as part of Ryan's production work - the studio is where he shoots, not a rentable facility.
